TO THE MEMBERS OF ETERNAL HOPE – “THANK YOU!”

“I would like to thank all of you for your financial support of the Senior Youth in preparation for the National Youth Gathering, but more importantly, I want to thank you for your spiritual support. Without your food donations for our meal, monetary donations for all of our events, and prayers throughout the Gathering preparation, there would be no Senior Youth or Youth Gathering. I thank the parents of the youth members for allowing me the privilege of leading their children to New Orleans, and also to Karla Tetter for helping lead the kids in New Orleans. Thank you to the Pastor for the commissioning service before the trip. And thank you to the youth members for allowing me to tag along with them while in New Orleans. Thank you to everyone who had a part in our trip to New Orleans.”

“Highlights of the trip for me include: all of the main speakers at the mass events, the Skit Guys, the Jesus Painter, the Jesus Sand Artist, the concerts, Lost and Found as they included Josh in one of their songs, New Orleans food at Amaud’s Remoulade and Cafe’ Du Monde, our screaming locator monkey, the St. Louis Cathedral, the crazy elevator system at the Marriott, and seeing the kids interact with each other.”

“Again, thank you , Eternal Hope, for all of your support for the Senior Youth, and we look forward to sharing more stories and pictures with you in the near future.”  —- Andrew Dramstad

2010 LCMS NATIONAL YOUTH GATHERING

This summer the Senior Youth will attend the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans. The Gathering will be held July 17-21, 2010. We will be sending seven youth participants to the Gathering, who will be accompanied by two adult leaders. The theme for this year’s Gathering is “We Believe.”  This theme is based on John 20:31 – “But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.”

Rev. Terry Dittmer, director, LCMS District and Congregational Services-Youth Ministry, says: “One of the things that youth always say about the Gathering is how much it means to encounter other students who ‘believe like I do.’ ‘We Believe’ is a wonderful, corporate expression of our faith in Jesus Christ, especially as we focus on the creed and our confession as we take that faith to the New Orleans community in Word, celebration, service, witness and fellowship.”

We Believe,” the 11th triennial National LCMS Youth Gathering, will be held July 17-21 in New Orleans. This will be the event’s third visit to New Orleans. Previous New Orleans’ Gatherings included “A Time for Joy” (1992) and “Higher Ground” (2001). The 2007 Gathering had been planned for New Orleans, but was moved to Orlando, FL, in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
